In the picturesque landscape of the Alpilles, a new winery has emerged, born from the friendships of five passionate individuals: Philippe, Bruno, Pierre-Jérôme, Franck and Bertrand. Their story begins with a shared vision to create something authentic and rooted in the land. The serendipitous meeting with Justine, a talented winemaker with a rich experience at the esteemed Domaine de Trevallon, ignited their ambition. Justine’s dedication to the land, combined with the fervor of this quintet, has led to the inception of Le Domaine des Alpilles. Together, they have forged a partnership focused on producing wines that speak to the terroir and their collective vision.
Nestled in a unique corridor of the Alpille’s landscape, the terroir of Le Domaine des Alpilles is characterized by a combination of demanding climate conditions and a rich geological history. The land benefits from well-draining soil, composed of clay-limestone and scattered with larger rounded pebbles that are remnants of the ancient Durance riverbed. This lively and diverse ecosystem promotes the organic vitality of the vineyards. As the winds sweep through the region, they contribute their character to both the vines and the wines produced. The essence of this terroir is present in every grape, promising a true reflection of the land in each bottle.
Justine Duble
Justine is a spirited young woman with a dream of becoming a winemaker at her family’s estate near Saint-Rémy de Provence. After studying at Lycée Viti-Oeno and l’Institut du Vin, she gained experience at the esteemed Trévallon estate under Eloi Dürrbach.
In a delightful twist, Justine connected with five childhood friends—chartered accountants—who shared her vision for a collaborative winemaking venture. She aims to create exceptional red, rosé, and white wines by utilizing unique grape varieties and massal selections. The Syrah is sourced from Trévallon, and the plants are sourced from the Lilian Bérillon nursery, known for its expertise in massal selection and the preservation of ampelographic heritage. Embracing her heritage, Justine and her team focus on organic viticulture, hand harvesting, and gravity-fed pressing.

At Le Domaine des Alpilles, simplicity and focus underpin their approach to winemaking. The winery produces three distinct wines—a white, a red, and a rosé—from a carefully curated selection of ten grape varieties.
The white wine, a harmonious blend of Chenin, Roussanne, Marsanne, Carignan blanc, and Clairette, showcases the elegance and minerality derived from the cold, calcareous soil.
Lastly, the red wine brings together Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cabernet-Sauvignon, and Cinsault, flourishing in the warm, sun-kissed Mediterranean climate that nourishes its bold character. Each wine tells a story—a dialogue between the land, the climate, and the shared passion of its makers.
The rosé, comprised of Cinsault, Clairette, and Chenin, captures the refreshing flair of the region, boasting vibrant acidity and a youthful spirit.
Cheers to the promise of what lies ahead!
